While I'm a big enthusiast of games with a pirate theme, this one somehow disappointed me throughout the way. Well, don't get me wrong, the game is enjoyable and everything, to a certain extent, of course... That said, where should I begin? Ok, I won't say anything about the graphics, especially because I've played Pixel Piracy before, and at least for me, that's definitely not something that can spoil a good game. The music gets old quickly, and the sound effects are ok. As for the gameplay itself, I thought somehow weird to play with a mouse + keyboard combo (didn't really try a gamepad though). Ah well, anyway, you get used to it. As for the story... Yeah, in my opinion, that's where the game drops the ball. There's not really something to keep you motivated to play, as it's basically just a whole lot of grinding and repetitive quests. After you unlock all the achievements, eventually you get to ask yourself: "What about now?", and that's when you uninstall the game.So, overall, if you're looking for a game with a fair price, in order to kill some time, unlock all the possible achievements without much hindrance etc... I'd recommend it to you. Otherwise... Well, don't expect much from it. I'd say that it's like a one night stand: Enjoy it while it lasts. Pixel piracy done right.. For some reason i cant buy things from the shop i went to every island and i could not buy anything why is this happening.. This game is DEFINITELY NOT worth 10 bucks, however, if it's cheaper than 2 - you're safe to buy yourself a casual experience. I spent three and a half hours on this game and I felt like the 0,99EU I paid was reasonable. Don't expect amazing replayability, it's one of those games that you just complete 100% and never play them again except maybe in a couple of years because of nostalgia or whatever.. 10/10 game, super relaxing and just a good game overall. So far, this game is still entertaining after ten hours, which is usually a lot to ask from an early access game. But not only is it entertaining and fun, it's almost constantly being updated--real updates, too, not just "we tweaked one minor thing nobody was talking about". The devs are personable and actually listen to/care about the players. There's already a lot of content. The music and art is great--the islands in the game are gorgeous, as are the reflection effects. All in all, as of right now, I seriously recommend this game.. Cool game, but I would like a bit more to do in it and maybe some more pointers to where to find jobs n stuff. Customization of ships and islands wouldnt hurt either. But, it be a cool game.. This game does have potential. There are some late gameplay features that do however drive me crazy. Crew members are expensive to acquire, there aren't nearly enough wooden planks available and my biggest issue ENEMIES TAKE MY TERRITORY WAY TOO EASILY DESPITE DIVERTING HALF THE BUDGET TO THE DEFENCE! Asides those issues, this game is already fun for something as young as it is.. This game is awesome. The art style alone is great and it is so satisfying to see another ship explode when you take it down. The game is being updated at a nice pace, with a UI overhaul coming soon as I post this review.
